In one of the most enchanting surprises of the season, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr quietly reunited to film a secret holiday special deep inside a snowy forest cabin — a private, cinematic performance meant to celebrate peace, love, and the comforting spirit of winter music.
The project, known only by its working title “Winter Harmonies,” was filmed over two nights in a remote woodland location in northern England. The cabin, lit entirely by candles, lanterns, and a crackling fireplace, created an atmosphere that felt more like a warm winter memory than a film set.
A Holiday Special Like No Other
Inside the cabin, Paul played acoustic guitar and piano while Ringo handled brushes, hand drums, and soft percussion. The two performed stripped-down versions of classic Beatles winter favorites, select solo songs, and a few newly written holiday pieces.
One of the standout moments was an intimate fireside rendition of “In My Life”, with Paul on piano and Ringo adding gentle, heartbeat-like rhythm. Crew members described the moment as “spellbinding… like watching brothers share a memory.”
Another highlight was a playful acoustic jam of “Octopus’s Garden (Winter Mix),” complete with sleigh bells that Ringo jokingly said he “borrowed from Santa.”
A Message for the World
Between songs, Paul and Ringo spoke softly about friendship, aging, and the healing power of music. Paul shared:
“Winter always brings people together. We wanted this to feel like sitting with old friends by the fire.”
Ringo added,
“Peace, love, and warm music — that’s the holiday spirit.”
The special will be released online as a surprise drop on Christmas Eve, with all proceeds supporting winter shelters, mental health programs, and food banks across the UK and US.
A Moment Only Paul & Ringo Could Create
The holiday special isn’t flashy.
There are no big lights.
No audience.
Just two lifelong friends making music in a quiet snowy cabin, surrounded by warmth, memories, and the gentle hush of winter night.
It’s a reminder that peace and love aren’t just words — they’re moments we create together.
