Paul & Ringo Host a Private Snowy Lakeside Jam Session During Their December Break

During a brief pause in their December 2025 schedule, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr escaped the noise of the cities and retreated to a quiet lakeside cottage in the Lake District — where the two lifelong friends ended up creating one of the most intimate musical moments of their winter.

The cottage, surrounded by pine trees heavy with fresh snow, offered nothing but silence, a frozen lake, and a crackling fireplace inside. Paul arrived first with an acoustic guitar slung over his shoulder, while Ringo followed carrying a small travel drum set and his signature warm scarf.

A Retreat Turned Into a Musical Moment

What was meant to be a simple two-day rest quickly turned into a spontaneous jam session.
Paul set up on the cottage’s wooden porch, overlooking the icy lake as snowflakes drifted gently around him. Ringo, laughing about the cold, joined him with a small snare and a pair of soft brushes.

The two then played stripped-down versions of old favorites, improvised melodies, and even worked on a gentle winter-themed tune Paul jokingly called “Frozen Harmony.”

Locals walking nearby said they heard faint music echoing across the lake — not loud, not polished, but warm, familiar, and full of friendship.

A Moment Without Cameras, Just Music

Paul later said the session reminded him of “the old days,” when they would play simply because it felt good, not for a stage or a crowd.

Ringo added:
“Some moments are just meant for the air, the snow, and two old mates having fun.”

A Tradition in the Making

Though unplanned, the lakeside session may become an annual tradition. The two laughed about returning every December for a quiet musical retreat away from the world.

Before packing up, they scribbled down a few notes of their winter melody on a scrap of paper — a tiny keepsake of a peaceful moment between friends.

For Paul and Ringo, it wasn’t a performance.
It wasn’t a recording.
It was simply music — shared between brothers, in the quiet of winter.
