Ringo Starr Donates His Entire Drum Kit Collection to a Children’s Hospital Music Therapy Program

In an extraordinary act of generosity, Ringo Starr has donated his personal drum kit collection to a children’s hospital to support their music therapy program. The collection includes several of Ringo’s iconic drum sets, some of which he used during tours and recordings after The Beatles.

The donation will allow young patients to experience the healing power of rhythm and sound as part of their recovery. Music therapists at the hospital believe the kits will inspire creativity, reduce stress, and bring joy to children undergoing treatment.

At the handover ceremony, Ringo said warmly, “Music saved my life when I was young, and it’s given me everything. If these drums can bring even a little bit of peace and happiness to children facing tough times, then that’s the best beat I could ever play.”

The hospital’s staff expressed immense gratitude, calling the gift “a once-in-a-lifetime treasure.” Families of patients were deeply moved, with many saying the donation showed the true heart of the legendary drummer.

For Beatles fans, the gesture represents Ringo’s lifelong message of peace and love in its purest form—using music to heal.
